山の紹介本を見ても北海道はほとんどが百名山、もしくは二百名山の紹介です。
確かに幌尻岳、大雪山、羊蹄山などは目立ちます。
しかし、素晴らしい低山もたくさんあります。
是非、道外の本州、四国、九州の方は来てほしい。
どこがいいかを一言でいうと
「高緯度なので、高山植物が簡単に見れる」
例えば、1000ｍくらいの北海道の山では本州の2000ｍ以上に咲く花を見ることができます。
わざわざ高い山に登らなくても良いんです。
ただ、見頃は５月、６月です。早い時期に低山で花を見て、夏に大雪山などの高山でもう一度見る。
これがいいんです。
あっ高緯度なので真夏も登れますからね。

If you look at books introducing mountains, most of Hokkaido's mountains are listed as one of the 100 or 200 famous mountains.
It's true that Mt. Poroshiri, Mt. Daisetsu, and Mt. Yotei stand out.
But there are also many wonderful low mountains.
I'd love for people from outside of Hokkaido, such as Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu, to come and visit.
In one word, what's good about it is
"Because it's at a high latitude, you can easily see alpine plants."
For example, on the mountains of Hokkaido at about 1000m, you can see flowers that bloom at 2000m or higher in Honshu.
You don't have to go out of your way to climb a high mountain.
But the best time to see them is in May and June. See the flowers on the low mountains early, and then see them again in the summer on high mountains like Mt. Daisetsu.
This is what's good about it.
Oh, because it's at a high latitude, you can climb in midsummer.
